The Elite is an elegant Galapagos cruise catamaran that revolutionized luxury, class and the overall cruising experience when it set sail in June 2019. As the Freire’s family flagship vessel, the Elite provides modern upscale adventure with its extensive itinerary, state-of-the-art navigation systems and wide array of social areas. It was custom built in the Guayaquil (Ecuador) shipyards. The decoration was hand made by artisan hands and carpenters guided by Rita Freire Jr., a passionate business woman from San Cristobal island in Galapagos. Mrs. Freire follows her family’s tradition of providing high quality tourism services in the Galapagos Islands.

Memorable cruise on Elite Yacht in Galápagos
We were on the "Elite luxury cruise yacht" this week in Galapagos—wow! What an experience. The ship is beautiful, service superb, and staff goes over the top. All of the activities were well planned, safe, and exciting. Every meal and snack was delicious. The menu was varied and they accommodated dietary desires (vegetarian or specific preferences). The menu was discussed the night before at our "next day briefing," held each night. Days were packed with activity—you could choose to do them all or decide which you wanted to participate in. The crew was outstanding; they could not do enough for you. Our guide David (separate from the crew) was awesome—very informative, educational, fun, and flexible. This is a cruise that should not be missed. The boat holds 16 comfortably; we had 9 passengers, which made it even better.

Sail the Elite with Galapagos Cruise Company for best Galapagos cruise experience
From July 28–Aug. 2, 2025, we cruised in the Galapagos Islands on the Elite with Galapagos Cruise Company Cruises. It was very luxurious. All flights and transfers were handled and fees covered, so we didn’t have to do anything. Our room was huge with a king-sized bed, armoire, desk, couch, nightstands, coffee maker, room safe, full bathroom, and a private balcony. The itinerary was full with early starts: snorkels virtually every day (1 or 2), walks or tours of the islands or a tortoise sanctuary daily, or a zodiac tour, plus three great meals a day and snacks after re-boarding. Although the timing wasn’t optimal (not their fault), wetsuits and full snorkeling gear were provided. Meals were delicious—breakfast and lunch buffet style, and dinner served with a choice of two proteins (sometimes both, like surf & turf). The crew were fantastic and the naturalist was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We saw everything we hoped to see and more. The Elite is a well-appointed catamaran with a maximum of about 17 passengers, 8 double-occupancy suites on two decks, and 1 single-occupancy cabin. Highly recommend the Elite and Galapagos Cruise Company if you can afford it.

Elite Catamaran - Just Amazing
From greeting us at the airport to, reluctantly, disembarking, we couldn’t fault the Elite and her crew. Blessed with 14 other delightful companions, our 4 night cruise exceeded all our expectations. Our cabin was spacious with a huge very comfortable bed. The public areas were spacious and accommodated all the guests. The crew were fantastic and really made us feel at home and how they produced such amazing food in a small galley is beyond me. Nothing was too much trouble. The excursions were wonderful enabling us to see a wide variety of animals and birds on the different islands. It’s not a cheap option but to us worth every penny for such an amazing once in a lifetime trip. Big thank you to all the crew.
